... Geelong Archers ....
Specialising in Target, Field and Indoor archery
in Geelong since 1960
Geelong Archers were robbed last night(Tuesday 19th Feb).
Items stolen include:
30 recurve bows,
5 Genesis limited compound bows,
7 Hoyt Ruckus bows
and 2 Mission Craze bows.
Along with around 350 Easton jazz arrows.
Please keep an eye out for the gear as it may turn up somewhere for sale and report it to the local Police.
As a result of the break in any and all beginners classes / Come and Try sessions will have to be postponed until further notice.
New for 2014
Beginning on Wednesday 5th February morning ..
Seniors (aged 50+) come and try sessions.
Every Wednesday morning
This is not just for club members but for both men and women in the seniors age group that have some spare time on their hands to come along and give our sport a go.
This will run on a weekly basis every Wednesday morning
between 10am and midday...
with shooting beginning at 10am sharp so you'll need to be at the club around 9.30am if you are interested so we can set you up with equipment)
which will include the cost of equipment hire
Geelong Archers would like to acknowledge the support of
Councillor Barbara Abley,
councillor in the Brownbill Ward within the
City of Greater Geelong and the city's
Councillor Community Grants Program.
A grant of $500 was received through this program and has
been added to funds raised through a BBQ fundraiser and
used for the purchase of two new compound bows and
accessories to replace
equipment stolen from
the club during a burglary early in December 2011.
Bows such as this are vital to us being able to teach
interested pindividuals and groups within our community
the skills of this facinating sport.
Thankyou Councillor Abley and The City of Greater Geelong,
your support of
Geelong Archers is much appreciated.
Geelong Archers would like to acknowledge the support of the
Victorian State Government's
Department of Planning and Community Development.
Through them we were able to receive a financial grant under their
Emergency Grant, Sport and Recreation Equipment scheme.
These funds were put towards replacing archery equipment which
was stolen from the club just prior to Christmas 2011.
Without this equipment we would be unable to bring archery to community
groups and individuals.
Our website is brought to you via a free website hosting service:
There is no cost to us to have our website hosted on here but visitors to our
site do have to put up with the pop-up adverts that come up when
they visit the site initially.
These adds are what keeps the site free for us to use but can be closed
down straight away though and from there on you can browse our site
